Bagpipe Maintenance Services

Are you having issues with your bagpipes? Are you not happy with how they are playing? Are they too hard? Too easy? Have you not used them in a while and need help getting them going? Let Lothian Bagpipe Supplies maintenance your bagpipes for you.

The Process

First (Ship) - You'll need to get your bagpipes to us. You can drop off your pipes by our retail store or ship your pipes directly to us (use shipping address in link). We recommend either FedEx or UPS because tracking is very good and you can insure your pipes for their value in case something were to happen to them in transit. It's best to ship them without the case to help save on weight which translates to additional shipping cost. Simply use a box large enough to fit just your instrument, wrap all parts in bubble wrap, and stuff the box full of packing peanuts or additional bubble wrap so that the instrument won't bounce in transit. Include in the box a note with your information (name, address, phone number, email) and a summary describing what you would like the experts here at Lothian to take a look at.

Second (Diagnose) - In addition to maintaining any items you specifically state, Iain Donaldson and his staff will perform a FREE diagnostic session with your pipes (yes, we will actually play them if they are playable) and let you know if there's anything else we see that could be improved/updated to give you a better playing experience.

Third (Report) - We will then call you with any recommendations before we make updates to your instrument. Maintenance typically only takes a few days once we determine everything that needs to occur and you authorize us to begin working.

Fourth (Complete) - Once your pipes are finished, we will call you and let you know how things went. We will also collect final payment information at this time. Your pipes will be shipped back out to you via UPS, and you will recieve all tracking information.

What Do We Do?
